Gender reveal party

Some friend had suggested that we have a gender reveal to find out the sex of our baby. I had seen it on Pinterest done several different ways. A big box with pink or blue balloons in it, going to a store picking out a girl and boy outfit and getting the clerk to wrap which ever One matched what was written In the envelope they gave her and they then opened the package with friends and family.

Aaron and I decided it would be fun so we decided to get a cake made and the butter cream coconut filling inside the cake be dyed the color of the baby's sex.

We had our Obgyn appointment on Monday 17th . Aaron's mum, dad, grandma, sister and brother came. They all wanted to know ahead of time the sex of the baby and they would be able to phone the final details of the cake through to the baker.

We all piled into the ultra sound room. Unfortunately the baby was facing my back and not budging. So we didn't get to see his face, but the Dr was able to get all his measurement and he is healthy and growing right on target. That was the best news.

Half way through the hour long scan because baby was being so stubborn and it took so long to get the measurements. The Doc tried everything, jiggled my tummy and got me to lay on my side but baby Noah was comfy and wouldn't move already taking after his father lol. Anyway half way through Aaron turns to the Dr and asks, "do you know the gender yet?" She nods. I gasp! I have been watching the screen the whole time and saw nothing! Aaron gives a knowing smile, I didn't pick up on this right then. It was later in the car it suddenly hit me, the timing of his question! He knew and had seen something I had not!

We had dinner with Myra and jeff that night. They had both found out before us and did a great job in not giving anything away. However when we left I said to Aaron I got a vibe that it was boy from them. It was not anything they had said but more what they hadn't said. Aaron agreed he thought it was a boy too. But he said it with a little too much conviction. Then it hit me, he knew something!
I bugged him to tell me what he had seen. He finally caved and told me he had seen the baby's junk on screen and so was convinced it was a boy.

I knew he was right. If I'm honest I was a little disappointed. I'm the oldest of 6 girls and I had only ever seen myself as a mother to a girl. Aaron reassured me he could be wrong, we still had to cut the cake and find out for sure.

Can you see the color of the filling on the knife ? Yep it's blue. Again I was a little sad at first but now I'm just really excited to meet my son, Noah Benjamin Dinsdale and more than anything want him here with me.

We had a great turn out of about 50 people. We held the reveal in my favorite coffee shop on main st placerville. Called Zia's.

I hope to receive a video and more pictures of the evening so watch this space.

My sisters Harriette and Madeleine were able to join us from London via face time. Tiffy too from KY. That made it so special.
