BART - Down Town SF and Welcome to the Polamor Hotel

Somethings changed and i have a feeling its me!! It seems ive gone soft.. Country living will do that to you. How do I know ive gone soft? A 30 min ride on the BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit was all i needed and suddenly i wanted to be back safe and sound in my little town of placerville, were people say hello to you in the street, wave at you from thier cars and when you go shopping staff help you carry your bags to your car and want to know how your day is going.

We decided to save some money, park the truck at a train station out side the city and catch the train into the city. We save money on parking, which can cost from $14 to $50 for 24hrs, and we save on gas. As soon as we were on the platform waiting I start to feel uncomfortable. Aaron goes back to the ticket station to ask a question and I stay on the platform with our cases.. Right away I notice a undesireable person, weldressed but he was starting to invade my personal space. Aaron comes back and he walks away mumbleing... The platfrom fills up with an eclectic array of people. No different from London, but its been over a year and Ive only been surrounded by middle class white folk..

In London I was used to being on guard and had a 6th sence, street wise I suppose. Now days my guard is down and it was strange having to put it back up again..

We got on our train and got a seat. the train wasnt that full.. Until we had to change and got closer into the city.. We walked across the platform in a crowd of people and no seats.. Its ok we stand and its like a typical underground train in London.. We have people talking to loudly. Young lads on thier mobiles taking pictures of everyone. A drunk wondering up and down the train, and a bunch of youths walking the train intimiadating.. Id have taken a picture if I thought I might not be asking to be mugged..
We made it and happly left the crowded carrage, followed the crowed and and emgerged to the cool night San Francisco air.

We only had to walk 2 blocks to our hotel. Hotel Palomar our Haven from the city. All the smells hit me at once it was just like being in Leicester Sq in London. The sent of homeless people, urine, booze and cigarettes. It hit me like a wall.. Ugh! I hadnt had these sensations for a while and I didnt miss them at all.

Our Hotel was modern and welcoming the room spacious and comfy.. yes!! This is our room.. its exaclty the same as the one we are in but we are on the 7th foor so the view is different.

Once we settled in we went for dinner and a beer, Aaron took me to Lefty O Douls a Irish Pub/Piano lounge there was a guy singing on the piano behind the photographer and to the left you can see the carvery type deal.. Well its basicly like school dinners.. I liked but its not top quailty, i had beef, mash and stuffing. Nice atmosphere, I heard welsh accents and it was nice and low key.

After dinner we went for a walk, hurried past all the homeless.. and then headed back to the Hotel.. Its late now and im due a shower and bed... ZZzzzzzz nightX

Girls Night

With the stress of every day life sometimes we need to relax and be pampered. But who can afford to go to a spa?? Not me.. Well if we cant go to the Spa we will bring the Spa to us.

Girls Night In.

We packed the fellas off to the local pub, cooked some healthy Chinese, got a few bottles of bubbly and all brought our skills .. Time to be pampered.. Ahhhhh!

Boys at the pub, Better known as the Placerville Brewing company because they brew their own beer. In fact there arnt any pubs just brewing companies here..

Kristy is the first to get the stress melted away in my new foot spa, all of $4 from a yard sale. Bargin!! and works like a dream, a touch of aromatherapy oil and Ahhhh

Wendy brought a ice cream cake yum... so much for the healthy dinner!

I love this picture of Ganine, its such a natural picture. Ganine was offering hand massages through out the evening, she had a special kit for it..

Cute Kristen soaking her feet. Kristen spent the evening surfing the internet looking for glass beads to make a braclet she has made when she was younger.

Kirsten found her beads after hours of looking LOL

Wendy giving head and neck massages.

Laurie is an Esthetician, we were lucky enough to have her bring her wax pot and do our eyebrows yey...

Laurie is also a joker, she waxed and then tidied up my eye brows and when the camera came pulled this face.

Kristy got the same treatment..

Wax on wax off.. Kristys sister in law (whos name escapes me ) getting her eyebrows waxed..

Cody and Kristy 5th Anniversary Pool Party

Cody and Kristy had their 5th wedding anniversary. To celebrate they had a pool party at thier spiritual grandparents house. This was my first ever pool party and hopefuly not my last it was great fun. We started off with a awesome BBQ then we girls jumped into the pool, it was very cool, but felt good as the weather warm. A perfect breeze. The house we were at was located on the peak of a moutain the view was spectacular. It was in a place called George Town. George Town is one of the those back country towns were people joke about everyone being realated and slightly behind the time. The brothers and sisters there are really warm and friendly.

Once we were in the pool we would spend some time in the hot tub then cool down in the pool.. The rest of the men folk got thier golf clubs out and hit golf balls off the side of the moutain. When then sun went down and we watched the moon rise we lit a fire and sang Karioke. .. it was a fun, relaxing eveing.. Perrrfect.

The men BBQing..

Kristian and Brian Foote ( my maid of honour) The perfect catalog couple lol, we thought they looked like they were from the pages of a catalog with thier drinks and shades.

All the girls in the hot tub, great sunset and the guys sitting and chatting .

Cody and his brother Chase, i do not have footage but chase and Erin Ming tackled Cody and threw him in the pool fully clothed it was a great moment.
Cody watching his golf ball decend the moutian, How far can we hit it?

Cody taking a swing.. hitting golf balls off the side of the moutain was a fav passtime of the fellas. This was just before Cody got thrown into the pool

Poor Shermandy Wermandy

Our boxer Sherman has been poorly.. He has had a mushroom looking growth, growing out of his ear. It was pretty big and looked infected. Aaron and his dad Jerry wanted to perform surgery on Sherman themselves..Sigh.. I had to ever so politely remind them that unless they had a certificate that proved they went to veterinary school and could handle this they had better let a PROFESSIONAL deal with it..

I took Sherman to the vet today and they decided to keep him in then and there and do the surgery to remove the growth. The vet thinks that the growth might be a big pollop.. It looked like a mushroom from the top it was literally like some one had stuck a mushroom in his ear like an ear plug. He thinks it may be caused due to extreme irritation. As one was growing in the other ear too.. He cauterized them and flushed the ears out. Sherman was all drugged up when we collected him. Wobbly on his feet and didn't really know where he was hence we couldnt leave him alone.. He was fine today tho his usual self.. At the moment im cooking them meals. As his irritation is caused by food allergies so I cooked a batch of chicken and rice. Will add some black beans to it later to bulk it out. It really made me realize how much I love him and of course Tootise. lol
We wont find out if it was just a pollop or a cancerous growth till tomorrow as it went to pathology. . We caught Sherman trying to get in to Tootsies bed.. and he managed it.

I never thought i could love animals they way I love Sherman and Tootsie. My heart broke for him today seeing him all dazed and confused.. I wanted to be home with him..

I have a confession people.. My Name is Emily and I love my Dogs.. lol

First Anniversary - 2009

Its been a year already. How fast time goes by, it seems like it was only yesterday i was getting ready to leave the uk and follow my heart. Its been a wonderful year, i can honestly say the best yet. Full of highs and the occasional lows.
Ive had family and friends visit, met new family and made some amazing new friends but Nothing tops being with Aaron everyday, having that one person that will always be there and has promised to always be yours. My best friend.. He makes me smile and laugh everyday.. He gives me the things i have always needed, to feel loved.. to feel kindness... to trust enough to be vulnerable. Aaron is so affectionate that i never doubt his love for me. I feel secure. Im very fortunate that i have him and i thank Jehovah for bringing us together..

We started our day by having breakfast together.. After Aaron left i waited for the cake to be delivered. This is a chocolate buttermilk cake made by Sarah Beal who is a awesome cook and baker.. I designed it and she made it. She is the best, best mate you could ask for. It tasted devine Aaron said its the best choc cake he has ever tasted. She put her home made strawberry jam in the middle with choc frosting as per my request as the jam is so good. This cake was so so so DEVINE!!! Sarah also sent flowers from her garden too.. They were busting with colour.

Then i jumped in the truck and headed to the store to get the rest of the picnic treats sorted out, (turns out i made way to much food).
Aaron come home and lunch takes the truck and disapears. He comes home with the most amazing bunch of flowers. See below

I get the picnic together drive 25mins to set it up and then come back and collect him..
For our anniversary i prepared a picnic by the river. We spent the evening swimming, cuddling and eating... lol.. a very chilled and intimate picnic. A first for both of us..

Happy Anniversary Honey X

Below are some gifts from friends that were pretty cool

Kirsiten my maid of honour, put together this travel picnic bag. Its so cute im gonna keep it in the car for impromtu picnics

Shiloh gave me some earl grey tea, and natures lolly pops.. Honey comb on a stick how neat!
Ill post pics of the river picnic soon, gotta get them off of Aarons phone

I Passed My Driving Test

So I took my driving test this morning at 10.30am. Claudia came with me and we drove around the "course", officially your not supposed to know the route they take you on but the instructors tell you and it gets passed around. I didnt take any official lessons i just drove when we were out and about.

To be honest the test is really easy, esp as its in a automatic. Even if it was Manuel the route is so simple.. Im just glad i can drive and get around now.. im happy

Here is a picture of our truck that ive been driving and took the test in,.. This isnt our truck but its exactly the same, except ours is dark grey.

Our First Dance

We attended a wedding on Saturday and the song "At last" by Etta James came on and Aaron took me by the hand and we danced it was our first dance as a married couple.. I was so happy...
Happy sigh......
