Gender reveal party
Some friend had suggested that we have a gender reveal to find out the sex of our baby. I had seen it on Pinterest done several different ways. A big box with pink or blue balloons in it, going to a store picking out a girl and boy outfit and getting the clerk to wrap which ever One matched what was written In the envelope they gave her and they then opened the package with friends and family.
Aaron and I decided it would be fun so we decided to get a cake made and the butter cream coconut filling inside the cake be dyed the color of the baby's sex.
We had our Obgyn appointment on Monday 17th . Aaron's mum, dad, grandma, sister and brother came. They all wanted to know ahead of time the sex of the baby and they would be able to phone the final details of the cake through to the baker.
We all piled into the ultra sound room. Unfortunately the baby was facing my back and not budging. So we didn't get to see his face, but the Dr was able to get all his measurement and he is healthy and growing right on target. That was the best news.
Half way through the hour long scan because baby was being so stubborn and it took so long to get the measurements. The Doc tried everything, jiggled my tummy and got me to lay on my side but baby Noah was comfy and wouldn't move already taking after his father lol. Anyway half way through Aaron turns to the Dr and asks, "do you know the gender yet?" She nods. I gasp! I have been watching the screen the whole time and saw nothing! Aaron gives a knowing smile, I didn't pick up on this right then. It was later in the car it suddenly hit me, the timing of his question! He knew and had seen something I had not!
We had dinner with Myra and jeff that night. They had both found out before us and did a great job in not giving anything away. However when we left I said to Aaron I got a vibe that it was boy from them. It was not anything they had said but more what they hadn't said. Aaron agreed he thought it was a boy too. But he said it with a little too much conviction. Then it hit me, he knew something!
I bugged him to tell me what he had seen. He finally caved and told me he had seen the baby's junk on screen and so was convinced it was a boy.
I knew he was right. If I'm honest I was a little disappointed. I'm the oldest of 6 girls and I had only ever seen myself as a mother to a girl. Aaron reassured me he could be wrong, we still had to cut the cake and find out for sure.
Can you see the color of the filling on the knife ? Yep it's blue. Again I was a little sad at first but now I'm just really excited to meet my son, Noah Benjamin Dinsdale and more than anything want him here with me.
We had a great turn out of about 50 people. We held the reveal in my favorite coffee shop on main st placerville. Called Zia's.
I hope to receive a video and more pictures of the evening so watch this space.
My sisters Harriette and Madeleine were able to join us from London via face time. Tiffy too from KY. That made it so special.

Obgyn appointment
I had my first Obgyn appointment at Sutter Memorial hospital. I really like my Dr, Dr Gilbert. He was honest and supportive about my risks and options.
We got to hear the heartbeat which was 152 beats a minute, good healthy and strong. The ultrasound tech was very good, she spent some time getting measurements and then jiggling my tummy with the ultra sound wand to make the baby move so she could get another angle. The baby gave us quite a show and kicked its legs and moved its arms like it was waving at us. Tiffy and jeff were in the room too and we all simultaneously oooed and ahhhrd. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen and finally seeing my baby so active brought me to tears.
Above is the picture of the baby looking at us face on. kinda looks like an alien at this point but that's cause this is mostly a skeletal picture.
So far healthy and strong.

I'm pregnant
I have some news. Im 12 weeks Pregnant.!!!!
I found out 3 weeks ago.
I am doing well no sickness, just tired mostly in the afternoons. Hungry every two hours eating small and regularly and well.
As i'm diabetic I am a high risk pregnancy and therefore I have been referred to a perinatal department at Sutter Sacramento which has a high risk unit.
Hopefully everything will be ok, as I am eating really well and keeping blood sugars low.
I have an appointment on the 5th November my first big OBGYN appointment. I should be able to hear the baby's heartbeat.
I found out last Wednesday the 10th when I took at test after I picked Aaron up from work. He was snoozing, I was in the bathroom and the test went positive right away.
I walked over to the bed, tapped him, he took the test, looked at it confused then smiled and kissed me. He is very happy. I couldn't believe it was positive so I took another test at 7pm
while at a friends house, it was positive too. Then i took another one at 6am the next morning it was positive too.
Still unable to believe I was pregnant, I then made a OBGYN appointment on Friday and was given an internal ultra sound.
I asked her "is there a baby in there? she said yes and showed me the heart beat the screen, it was a small fast flicker. she then took a picture and gave me a copy.
I suspected I was pregnant for a month but couldn't believe it. Mostly because I was tired and my body was acting differently.
We told family when we went to the family cabin for the weekend and are now telling friends.
Im due May 15th..

Impromptu afternoon in Tahoe
After ministry and lunch Aaron and I decided to drive to Tahoe. The weather was perfect and if our motorcycle was home we would have been on a bike ride, but she still has another week in the shop.
We stopped at Echo Lake. It was stunning and lots of people where hiking, riding horses or out in their little motor boats as this would be the only way to access their cabins on the lake. We saw them stocking up their boats with grocers.
The water at Echo Lake was clear. The sun warm and the breeze cool. Would have loved to take out a boat, find a cove and picnic.
We walked the beach, watch the boats, listened to live music and felt totally at peace. We are so lucky to have all this on our door step.
Perfect day.

Beals Anniversay
Another friend another anniversary. This theme was easy both Jeff and Sarah both like beer. So we themed it "A blind beer tasting night" and did pub style food. Fish and Chips, Jalapeneo poppers, stuffed mushrooms and lots of other yummy things. Our colours were yellow and grey. I hand sewed all the fabric flag banners. Very proud they held together all night. Here are the pics .
We hosted it at Dereks home. Derek is a great cook and made a real effort to do British style fish and chips. It was amazing.
They guys doing their blind tasting all deep in thought. Jeff won and Aaron came last even behind the girls LOL.
